ATLANTA (Wednesday, July 31, 2024) – The July 31 international soccer match between England’s Chelsea FC and Mexico’s Club América will be televised in more than 130 countries worldwide. Event organizers announced the global broadcasters for the event, which kicks off at 7 p.m. E.T. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
ESPN Networks will televise the match domestically in the United States on ESPN+ and ESPN Deportes. A full list of broadcasters and territories is available at the end of this release. The match organizers were represented by global sports marketing agency Sportfive in media rights negotiations outside the United States, United Kingdom and Brazil.
The Engish-language broadcasters are play-by-play announcer Callum Williams, analyst Jamie Watson and sideline reporter Katie Witham. Kenneth Garay and Barak Fever will broadcast on Deportes.
Tickets for the match are still on sale via Ticketmaster.com and FCSeries.com.
Chelsea, the two-time Champions League and six-time English Premier League champions, will enter the preseason under new manager Enzo Maresca. The Blues are the first club to win all four major UEFA club competitions twice (Champions League, Super Cup, Europa League and Cup Winners’ Cup). The club played in Atlanta last summer in front of a sold-out crowd as a part of the Premier League Summer Series, where Chelsea and Newcastle played to a 1-1 draw in front of nearly 71,000 fans at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Club América is Mexico's most successful soccer team and the current Liga MX champion. With 107 years of history, it has achieved 14 Liga MX titles, 7 Concacaf Champions League titles, 6 Copa MX championships, 6 Champion of Champions titles, and 3 Inter-American Cup. The team is led by Andre Jardine, the Brazilian coach who won a gold medal with the Brazilian team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The Atlanta match will mark the fourth all-time game between Chelsea and Club America, all of which have occurred in the United States.
This summer, match organizers Unified Events partners with the FC Series for a slate of matches nationwide, including Chapel Hill, N.C., Los Angeles, South Bend, Ind., New York City, Atlanta, Orlando, Fla. and Columbus, Ohio.
