COLUMBUS, OHIO (Saturday, August 3, 2024) – Today’s international soccer match between Chelsea FC and Manchester City will be televised in more than 130 countries worldwide. Event organizers announced the global broadcasters for the event, which kicks off at 5:30 p.m. E.T. at Ohio Stadium on the campus of The Ohio State University. The match is part of the 2024 FC Series, a collection of friendly matches featuring top global soccer clubs.
ESPN Networks will televise the match domestically in the United States on ESPN, ESPN+ and ESPN Deportes. A full list of broadcasters and territories is available at the end of this release. The match organizers were represented by global sports marketing agency Sportfive in media rights negotiations outside the United States, United Kingdom and Brazil.
The Engish-language broadcasters are play-by-play announcer Tony Husband, analyst Jamie Watson and sideline reporter Katie Witham. The Spanish-language broadcasters are Kenneth Garay and Barak Fever.
All Man City's US Tour games will be broadcast live on CITY+, Man City's premium content subscription. Chelsea supporters in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland can watch the match live on the official Chelsea website and app.
Tickets for the match are still on sale via Ticketmaster.com and FCSeries.com.
Chelsea and Manchester City are the only clubs to win multiple Premier League titles in the last decade. The meeting in Columbus will be the 178th all-time between the two English clubs. Chelsea leads the series 71-65-42. Man City won the most recent meeting, a 1-0 victory in the semifinals of the FA Cup at Wembley Stadium on April 20.
August 3 will be the second international soccer match at Ohio Stadium. In July 2016, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Real Madrid CF 3-1 in front of 86,641 fans.
Now in its third year of hosting matches across the United States, the FC Series is a showcase for international soccer clubs. In January, the FC Series hosted CR Flamengo’s preseason tour in Florida. This summer, FC Series partners with Unified Events for a slate of matches nationwide, including Chapel Hill, N.C., Los Angeles, South Bend, Ind., New York City, Atlanta, Orlando, Fla. and Columbus, Ohio.
